Solar energy

Abstract

Reflection is one of essential factors reducing the photoelectric converters overall performance therefore it was carried out an experimental assessment of the real loss of sunlight of the studied photoconverter. The analysis of experimental data showed that it is necessary to distinguish two types of reflection of a light stream from a working surface of the photoconverter.

The paper deals with the special device which is designed and used in experiment. In this device, the studied sample is placed on the center in a framework in a form close to a hemisphere. This device allows to measure short circuit current of all battery at illumination of the studied sample through the calibrated opening in the top part of a framework.

Silicon structures with the textured etching of a working surface (models of production of San Paulo, Brazil) possess the minimum integral reflection coefficient Kref = 8,3 %.

Abstract

The application of the hollow tubular light guides for the rooms’ natural illumination, where the use of other methods is difficult or impossible, is an innovative technology. The calculation of the required number of light guides is connected with various factors affecting on the luminous flux value in the light guide output and, consequently, on the illumination surface. The article presents the problem solution model of the choice of optimum amount of light guides, providing standardized illumination of the room, with considering sizes and constructive features of the installation, and the distance between the light guides.

Wind Energy

Abstract

The article presents the results of modeling of combined wind-solar power plant elements as an autonomous source of power supply. The combined system of the power supply scheme objects remote from centralized power grids was selected. The mathematical models of the wind power plant and solar battery, as well as a complete scheme with the accumulator battery and a three-phase rectifier are described.

Abstract

In this article, the hydration processes of chlorine-substituted complex oxides with brownmillerite structure were obtained. Using thermogravimetric analysis, the studied phases were found to be able to incorporate water from the gas phase. The main forms of oxygen-hydrogen groups were defined.

Abstract

A computer simulation of the structure of the active layer cathode of a fuel cell with solid polymer electrolyte is carried out. The calculation process of the overall transient current for several values of the potential of the cathode was carried out. It was assumed that in the processes of wet interface in the substrate grains (agglomerates of carbon particles on the surface of which is covered with platinum) there are two factors: flooding of the pores in the grains of the substrate by water released during the electrochemical recovery of platinum, and draining of the grains as a result of water filtration.

The paper calculates the current-voltage curves. When the temperature Ts of the active layer exceeds the temperature T at which the fuel cell operates, there has been a significant increase in overall value of the currents of the cathode with increase Ts . This is due to the fact that at the transient overall value of the current, the substrate grains in the active layer are only partially submerged by water. It is also shown that the higher the flow rate of filtration is (it is proportional to the constant k in Darcy's law), the greater the release of the grains of the substrate from the water and a corresponding increase in the overall value of the current of the cathode is. Thus, to increase the amount of overall current of the cathode for a given value of capacity is possible by varying (increasing) the temperature of the active layer T and the Darcy constant k.

Abstract

In recent years, ultracentrifugation method was developed due to the growth of research in the field of nanotechnology. Ultracentrifugation is the most rigorous way to determine the molecular mass and hydrodynamic properties of macromolecules and colloidal particles. This method is applicable to both organic and inorganic substances, strictly speaking, to any substance whose optical properties a the ultracentrifugation method to metal oxide sols, experiments were conducted to determine the particle size of silicon oxide SiO2 and zirconium oxide ZrO lows calculating the average size of sol particles, but also determining the shape of the particle size distribution function in the test sol.

Abstract

The review discusses the effects of fullerene C60 and its derivatives on the living organism. It is noted that experimental studies have shown that high dispersion, chemical activity and the nature of their interaction with living cells represent a great danger to humans. Effects of fullerenes on the body are determined by the following factors: the ability to penetrate through the membrane, a tendency to form aggregates with different biochemical compounds, ability to generate derivatives of various sizes, structure and reactivity on the basis of the surrounding environment. It is stressed that the problem of a toxicological evaluation of fullerenes and their possible use with food, water, air, cosmetics and medicines is currently far from being resolved.

ENERGY SAVING

Abstract

The paper studies of kinetics of epoxy resin curing by dielectric analysis method. Kinetic parameters largely depend on the measurement mode. During curing, time dependence tgδ passes two maximum loss, the first of which occurs only in the case of measurement at low frequencies. The position of both maxima is largely determined by frequency at which the measurements are performed. The latter circumstance is very important, due to the fact that the time of occurrence of the maximum is usually associated with gelation of the system, the first maximum determines the transition from viscous state to viscoelastic one, and corresponds to the onset of gelation process. In connection with these methods the possibility of using them in additive technologies is discussed.

Abstract

Data on receiving the light beams without diffraction which are turning out after reflection from surfaces with slightly modified edges are submitted. Impact of light scattered at edges of the diffracted bodies in formation of diffraction patterns is experimentally proved. The possibility of neutralization of diffused light impact in diffraction distortions of light beams is shown. The possibility of creation of soft diaphragms on the basis of mirrors without diffraction is shown. The conclusion about a possible successful solution of the problem of the soft diaphragms which are necessary at creation of the powerful laser machines developed for the laser thermonuclear synthesis (LTS) – one of the directions in search of power-intensive alternative energy sources, the safest from the point of view of ecology is drawn. The conclusion about need of creation of the alternative theory of the diffraction considering the impact of a diffused light in formation of diffraction distortions of light beams is drawn.

Abstract

Structure and algorithm of the work of electric pulse cultivators (EPC) involves the integration of innovative technologies and effective technical means of implementing them with prospective industrial production technologies (a precision agriculture, etc.). The paper determines the composition of electric pulse cultivators as technical means to support environmentally-friendly processes, innovative technology for precision farming. Modular components in the EPC structure and component settings are chosen depending on the requirements of specific technology applications, actual conditions and the characteristics of object impacts. Algorithm of EPC functioning provides the parameters adjustment of technological processes as well as predictions of their changes.
