Abstract

The paper presents data on the development of catalytic materials with improved characteristics for catalytic membrane reactors of autothermal reforming of methane (ATR of CH4) obtained in the frame of the International collaborative project DEMCAMER – Design and Manufacturing of Catalytic Membrane Reactors by developing new nano-architectured catalytic and selective membrane materials. The Ni and Ni-Me (Me = Pt, Pd, Re, Mo, Sn) catalysts were synthesized based on different supports (La2O3, Ce1-xZrxOy, Ce1-xGdxOy, CeZrO2/Al2O3, La2O3-CeZrO2/Al2O3). Their activity was studied in the reaction of autothermal reforming of methane. The purposeful regulation of composition of Ni-containing phase (NiO, La-Ni-O, Al-Ni-O), average particle size of NiO (6-50 nm), and redox properties of Ni cations is realized by variation of support composition. The optimal composition and preparation mode of catalyst 10Ni0.5Pd/10CeZrO2/Al2O3 as well as reaction conditions were established. The catalyst provides at 850 ºС the H2 yield of ~60% and is characterized by stable work in condition of АТР of СH4 that indicates the availability of its application for rational methane conversion to hydrogen-containing gas.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Abstract

The paper validates the need of additional energy generation sources for powering peripheral systems, emergency braking systems of wind turbines in particu lar. We consider the existing technical solutions and reveales their disadvantages. On the base of the imperfection analysis we propose a new solution – the approach of electric energy generation using the vibrations generated during wind turbine operation. Technical solution is based on the device converting the vibro displacements of wind rotor into electric energy in generator mode (passive damper) and controlled electrical signals to counteraction damping vibration oscillations in motor mode (active damper).

Abstract

The paper gives the classification of wind turbines in control systems and information about the modern status and trends of wind equipment development. Moreover, it shows the features of small windmills control and features of aerodynamic control of different wind turbine types. We make the analysis of electronic control o f wind turbines and generalize the control tasks.

HYDROGEN ECONOMY

Abstract

This paper, based on the analysis of possible ways of storage and transporting hydrogen, considers the construction of the device for power propulsion and vehicles. The functioning of the proposed device is to hydrogen generation by reacting the active metals, or their alloys, or metal hydrides with water in a polar aprotic organic solvent. From these products, it has been proposed to form the cartridges with internal through holes. Cartridges are placed in the hydrogen generator. The polar solvent is pumped through the hydrogen generator in which it does not react with the material of the cartridge. Water is added in this solvent in a controlled manner and used for the reaction with the cartridge material for hydrogen release. After separation of the liquid phase, hydrogen flows into the fuel system of the internal combustion engine. The spent solvent is pumped into the acceptance and storage system, and is replaced when changing the cartridge. The system can operate in a closed loop in the case organization of gathering and recycling
of waste materials for reuse.

Abstract

At the moment, water filtration is still topical open problem. The nanofiber filter fabric is considered to solve this problem. The article describes electrospinning device to produce nanofiber and production technology. The graphical estimation of filter fabric efficiency is presented according to nanofiber parameters.

Abstract

The paper deals with the constructional elements from zirconium alloys used for manufacturing of technological channels in High Power Channel-type Reactors and Industrial Uranium-Graphite reactors. For estimation of safety handling with constructional elements with zirconium alloys, the paper investigates radionuclide composition, contamination level o f the irradiated zirconium alloy (E110), reliability of radionuclides fixing and impeding properties of a barrier material from mix o f clay in relation to the radionuclides identified in an alloy. Waste with irradiated zirconium alloy (1-1,5% mas. niobium) contain neutron-activation product: 93mNb and long-life rad ionuclides 94Nb and 93Zr. Also there are 60Co, 137Cs, 90Sr and actinides in the alloy. During experiment leaching of zirconium and niobium isotopes from alloy E110 were not detected. Significant rates of leaching were observed only for 60Co and 137Cs, which were in residues on internal surface of technological channels. It was proved, that sorptive properties of clay-content material, which used to during creating of placement of long-term conservation of Industrial Uranium-Graphite reactors graphite stack, provide localization of radionuclides in case of it outcrop in a barrier material from the irradiated alloy of zirconium. It occurs because radionuclides are sorbed by a barrier material.

Abstract

The present review is dedicated to the world's lithium resources, and application areas of lithium and its compounds in everyday life and technology. The paper reviews of the world's largest lithium deposits and analyzes its global production and reserves. The estimates of reserves were made on the basis of information received from government and industry sources. Due to the market development of lithium power sources, the secondary resources become the most promising ones. Furthermore, the paper demonstrates the necessity of creation of processes for recycling of spent lithium power sources. In connection with rapid growth in lithium consumption, it is very urgent task of lithium extracting, and its production in the form of salts, and metal. The paper describes the modern sorption methods of lithium extraction from the poor composition natural waters and brines with the use of inorganic ion exchangers highly selective to lithium. We present the results of their tests on real natural brines. Particular attention is given to the review o f the lithium and its compounds application areas: lithium power sources; glass and ceramics; lubricants, regeneration of oxygen in the autonomous life support systems, production of polymeric materials and catalysts in chemical technology, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, medicine, moreover, hydrogen energy, electronics and nonlinear optics, nuclear power, and used as rocket fuel. In the article, we provide an overview of p rices and demand for lithium and its compounds.
