Born on March 20, 1947
Education:
In 1971 graduated from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, faculty of chemical technology, specialty "Technology of electrochemical production ".
In 1978 defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences on the theme: "Research of electrode processes in nitrate melts".
In 1996 defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences on the theme: "Accumulation system and transformation of renewable energy."
Professional experience:
1971 - 1980 years - the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, department of electrochemical industry, engineer, junior researcher, senior researcher at the department of electrochemical industry.
1980 - 1987 years – DB "Shtorm" at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, head of the research department.
1987 - 2004 years - Institute of Electrodynamics, NAS of Ukraine, head of the department of common issues of usage renewable energy and department complex energy systems of renewable energy.
Since 2000 - Director of the Inter- Branch Center for Wind Energy at the Institute of Electrodynamics of NAS of Ukraine.
Since 2002, teaches at the department of RES NTU U "KPI", head of the Department.
Since 2004 - Institute of Renewable Energy, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, deputy director for science and head of department of wind energy, director of the Inter- Branch Center for Wind Energy, Institute of Renewable Energy at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Awards: Laureate of the State Award of Ukraine in the field of science and technology.
Specialist in: Alternative and renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Publications: 334 scientific publications, including 40 patents, 13 monographs.

Main scientific achievements:
Kudrya S.A. well-known scientist in the field of renewable energy and has fundamental and applied scientific findings to build renewable energy power equipment based on research of processes of transformation and storage of renewable energy, the most important of which are:
theory of the combined use of sources and storage of electricity and thermal energy, creating a combination energy systems based on complex use of renewable energy and various types of heat batteries and electricity, creation of energy systems based on hydrogen, their implementation and carrying out of field studies;
- Physical and mathematical models of basic workflow transformation and energy storage of renewable sources of various types;
- Methods of theoretical and experimental analysis of physical and chemical properties of functional and structural materials for renewable energy;
- General principles for design energy equipment of renewable energy - wind, solar, thermal, bioenergy installations and heat and electricity accumulators;
-Methods of research and mapping of energy potential at renewable areas;
- Construction methods of energy systems based on renewable energy sources in depending on type of source and its natural potential;
- Optimization methods simultaneous development of renewable energy industries;
- Optimization methods of operating parameters of wind turbines and electrolysers for hydrogen production with view to use it in autonomous power supply systems;
- Optimization methods of structures and functioning of autonomous wind turbines(WT)
- Mathematical modeling methods of technical and economic indicators of energy, economical, fuel, environmental and budgetary efficiency of investment projects of wind power plants (WPP) in order to make informed decisions about the appropriateness of these projects on the potential sites;

On his initiative in the NTUU "KPI" at the faculty of electric power engineering and automatics established department of renewable energy sources, which he chaired; made training and development of scientific and technical personnel in the Folkecenter (Denmark) and Renewable Energy Center (Schwerin, Germany) through the activities of the European Association for Renewable Energy of EUROSOLAR, diploma which he was awarded in 2004.
