Abstract

The paper analyzes the modification of the Jiles-Atherton vector model of magnetic hysteresis of materials which is recommended to use in the case of application constant and variable magnetic fields with small amplitude. Such conditions occur in a number of electromechanical energy converters, magnetic suspension, with a magnetic nondestructive inspection. The method is applicable to other models of the vector of hysteresis. It is shown that even for materials with isotropic properties the linearized equations describe the hysteresis process of induced magnetic anisotropy. The findings apply to ferromagnetic materials, and can also be used to describe the hysteresis properties of high-temperature superconducting materials.

Abstract

Growing popularity of renewable energy brings about negative effects for the power quality especially for harmonic levels of supply voltage. Voltage source inverters being inevitable for operation of renewable energy can produce significant amounts of current harmonics in power grids. This paper provides the analysis of current harmonic sources within the inverter and then introduces the Simulink model of three-phase inverter. Derived model defines the current harmonic levels of inverter in regard to the supply voltage distortion. The model validation is done by comparing the modeling results with measurement data. Finally, the analysis of frequency-dependent characteristics of voltage source inverter reveals factors with critical impact on current harmonic emission of inverter.

Abstract

In this article, the authors review the nitric oxide suppression methods by influencing on the generating process. The study showed the relations for degree of nitric oxide weakening in cooling flame intensification, water injecting to furnace, furnace gases recirculation using, fuels emulsification, staged or fuel combustion. The authors establish connections between a set of parameters, which have impact on finite nitric oxide concentration value. According to these relations, it can be possible to assess the influence of one factor or another. The study includes calculations of nitric oxide suppression degrees, which show a good agreement with the results of full-scale experiments. The results of the study can be used in power plants with low nitrogen oxides impact engineering.

Abstract

The article provides predictive analysis and calculation of concentrations of benz(a)pyrene, carbon monoxide, ash and coke particles in the combustion products promising coal-fired boiler with ultra supercritical parameters. Furthermore, the article defines emission limit values of benz(a)pyrene depending on the operating characteristics of the boiler PK-37 and types of coal fuel.

In order to ensure low-emission combustion of coal the authors of this article provide the optimal temperature levels of use of fuel with high ash content. When the dispersion of carcinogenic emissions to the maximum ground level concentrations, it is proposed time of stay of products of incomplete combustion in the atmosphere until full conversion of toxic substances. The article analyzes of regulation peculiarities of benz(a)pyrene emissions from heat-generating installations in the dispersion of combustion products in air.

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the numerical modeling of benz(a)pyrene emissions dispersion in air. For boilers of low heat capacity that combust coal and natural gas, the paperdetermines the limiting concentration levels of benz(a)pyrene in the combustion products and analyzes the influence of operating factors (heat load, the excess air ratio) on the formation of the final content of benz(a)pyrene in flue gases.

In this paper, the authors define the coefficients of turbulent diffusion, the maximum distance for observation of maximum ground level concentrations when the dispersion of gaseous emissions from the combustion of coal fuel and natural gas. Prediction of ground concentration of benz(a)pyrene allows steps to determine and optimize the size of the sanitary protection zone of the heat-generating enterprise, which is particularly important in dense urban areas.

Abstract

The article presents the results of research on the development of a fully integrated structure of the flywheel energy storage system (FESS) with combined magnetic suspension with HTS. The obtained technical solutions make it possible to provide a stable levitation of the flywheel, to non-contact regulate the force of thrust bearing with permanent magnet in the vacuum chamber of FESS, perform an initial centering of the flywheel and operationalize a safety bearing in case of accidents. These functions are performed by constructive elements, which controlled by a magnetic field and combined with the magnetic suspension. The theoretical results are confirmed by experiments on laboratory models of FESS. Application of FESS allows engineers to improve reliability of power supply, electric transport, more efficient use of promising new sources of hydrogen energy.

The article considers an up-to-date research and training problem of these thermally-activated processes optimization on conveyor-based calciners. The study includes the problem of programmable dense-phase warming, considering kiln`s technical restrictions and technology abilities of burning mechanism. The authors establish a task of burning mechanism optimal control, which can be solved by converting into multicriteria optimization. Control parameters: heat-transfer agent`s temperature at dense bed entry and its sweeping velocity. Control criterion: a reacting degree minimum and sintering of raw material. The limitations are set on: heat rate, temperature gradient and others, concerning with technical features of an aggregate. The study reveals a condition, forming a fading because of endothermic physicochemical transformations` heat absorption heat wave, which penetrates into the layer and intensifies decarbonization and sintering prosseses, providing the floor price on power imputs. Abstract

Surface-based radar system can be used for remote sensing of characteristics of sea arctic ice fields, such as speed and direction of ice motion, distance to an ice floe and thickness of ice. For this purpose, we offered multi-channel coherent interferometric radar system that operates on one wavelength (8 mm). The radar system is design to use pulse (with wide bandwidth) compression techniques, coherent integration, doppler and interferometric processing to obtain high loop sensitivity and high resolution on speed, range and altitude. Radar data are acquired line by line while rotating the transmitting and receiving antennas about a vertical axis. In this article the design, measurement principles, simulation results and characteristics of surface-based radar are presented.
