RENEWABLE ENERGY

Abstract

This paper describes the ice protection system that uses infrared radiation for removal of ice and crust from the front surface of the solar panel in low temperature conditions (less than 00С). The authors justified usefulness of the system for panels used in cold climate regions; discussed alternative approaches of ice and crust removal from solar panel operating surfaces. Location and function of the system components are aimed at increasing the panel operation efficiency during and after atmospheric precipitation. We showed the details of multi-layer structure of the system and described a method of component calculation. We also showed the results of experiments demonstrating the operability of the system in winter conditions.

Abstract

Appearance of high concentration of trap levels in the band gap associated with the processes of doping and irradiation in single crystals of p-GaSe is found. In the result, new structural defects appear. These defects entail a number of changes: narrowing the spread of trap states near the Fermi level, reducing the average distance between the jumps, as well as decrease of in the activation energy. These studies can be particularly useful at solar cells design.

Abstract

Issues of industrial microalgae fuel-dedicated biomass production have been discussed in this paper. The environmental aspects of renewable plant biomass use have been analyzed and the importance of substitution of fossil fuels-based energy conversion cycles by renewable energy technologies has been substantiated. Problems of conventional biofuel production technologies oriented on use of food-dedicated agricultural products have been highlighted. These problems can be solved by using biofuels manufactured from microalgae. Main research directions aimed at raising competence of the third-generation of biofuels prepared from algae biomass have been described.

Abstract

A computer simulation of the structure and modes of functioning of active layers (activated carbon, with aqueous electrolyte)
in double-layer capacitors (DLCs) was performed. Charging of the DLCs was studied. The main characteristics of the DLCs
(charging time, specific capacity, and stored energy) were calculated. The central problem of calculation of the DLCs with a real, nonmonoporous structure was formulated. The DLCs with the ideal structure were suggested and studied. Polarization of ideal active layers includes a sequence of two charging processes: the first one is galvanostatic and the second one is potentiostatic. In ideal structure with thickness of 1 cm, the specific capacity C=2450 F/сm2 and stored energy W=1200 J/сm2 were reached.

Abstract

This paper analyses known energy accumulators and evaluate their applicability for electric grids. Nowadays, peaks of the power supply became the very important indicator of electric grids. To smooth the peaks, the power storage systems could be used to support local or main electric grids during the peak operation. We found out that the most efficient approaches are the superconducting storage, super flywheel, and Li-Ion accumulators.

Abstract

Using heavy space rockets Angara-A5 on Vostochny Spaceport with environmentally friendly components of rocket fuel (kerosene – liquid oxygen) would allow significantly reducing emissions and spills from the Space Rocket Machinery on the launch pads and to ensure environmental safety in the spaceport area. Treatment of contaminated soil using sodium selenate increases the microbial activity, mineralization rate, nitrifying and enzymatic capacity of mineralization of grey forest soil. This effects the conservation and restoration of the soil fertility.

Abstract

This article is the review of firm household and industrial waste (FHW) potential in large and average settlements, standard-legal regulation of FHW treatment in Turkmenistan. Current state of wastes treatment system, principal types of services in the firm wastes market, short analysis of the World and European experience FHW treatment is discussed. The paper describes the wastes sorting complex based on effective and inexpensive technologies.
