I. RENEWABLE ENERGY 1. Solar Energy

12-23 984
Abstract

The paper discusses the problem of methodological framework imperfection for the evaluation of solar and wind energy potentials at the regional level inRussia. It offers a method of resource potential evaluation, based on building a geodatabase and spatial analysis integrating energy in the region (including energy shortages, generation facilities and the availability of power outages), as well as on area and scale of natural and environmental constraints to the implementation of the solar energy objects. The results are obtained by the authors in the course of testing the developed method on an example ofKrasnodarregion territory.

Abstract

The paper investigates the effect of deformation on the photocurrent and photovoltage in the p-n-junctions. It was found that under illumination in the fundamental absorption edge with its own light, the semiconductor becomes sensitive to the effects of the strain. This allows you to control the speed of the electrons and holes photogeneration by an external impact. In this case, there is a possibility to control the photovoltage and photocurrent arising in semiconductor solar cells.

Abstract

A generalization of the literature data on the methods for Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 thin films deposition and the development of solar cells based on this material is presented. The information on the phase states in the Cu-Zn-Sn-Se (S) system and the optimal elemental composition of Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 for use in photovoltaics are analyzed. The reaction mechanisms of the metal Cu-Zn-Sn precursor selenezation process and the methods for the side phases removing are considered. A deep attention is paid to the use of electrochemical technologies in the processes of this material manufacturing.

II. WIND ENERGY

Abstract

The paper deals with the historical data of wind industry appearance, wind turbines and control systems evolution and gives the evaluation of different methods of power control by pitch control, aerodynamic regulation, braking ballast and combined intelligent control. We conduct the economic analysis of wind turbine cost, reasonability of usage the intellectual control systems, and present the possible ways of wind turbine equipment development.

Abstract

In this paper, we proposed an algorithm of wind turbine power control when it supports maximum extracted power independently of tip speed ratio and/or wind speed. We proved the efficiency of control of small wind turbines in urban regions. We also formulated the conditions and structure of microprocessor operation, described the algorithm of wind turbine power control showing the possible situations and states.

Abstract

The quality of the source data (sufficient spatial and temporal frequency) is decisive in the calculation of wind energy. In recent years, specialized data bases are increasingly used for regional assessments of wind potential and wind farm performance forecast. These databases provide the results of averaging the ground observation data, satellite data and mathematical modeling. In this connection, an important task is to verify such data and involvement reanalysis data in wind energy calculations. The work carries out verification of reanalysis NCEP CFSR on measurements of ground stations (Roshydromet network) and data of SODAR at altitudes up to300 m. A detailed comparison of the different wind characteristics that calculated on base of the reanalysis and specialized databases (NASA SSE, NASA POWER) is proposed. Calculation methods of wind speed and repeatability at a predetermined height based on CFSR are described. Region of research is the territory of the Black Sea coast of theNorth Caucasus, which is characterized by rather complex and diverse topography. Map of wind on the Black Sea coast of theCaucasus(height50 m), built using reanalysis data about average speeds allows the researchers to highlight the most productive areas for further detailed investigation. The proposed methodology for calculating wind speed and repeatability at a predetermined height, which based on reanalysis of high spatial resolution can be productively used to evaluate the wind energy potential.

Abstract

The paper suggests the thermochemical reactor design for methane air conversion in which heat is supplied to the catalytic nozzle with particulate intermediate coolant heated by combustion products of part of conversion products in a fluidized bed located above nozzle. Conversion and combustion products are discharged separately. Conversion products satisfy the requirements of a protective environment. A model of the process based on a system of two differential equations, describing the experiment satisfactorily.

Abstract

The experimental results on crystallization of Pb in dynamic centrifugal casting apparatus of a new type, with a rotor speed 3000 rev/min have considered. In the crystallized Pb, vacancy clusters with an average tube diameter 39 nm have revealed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). After the dynamic centrifugal casting process, two Pb melting temperatures have been recorded by DSC method. A remarkable enhancement of the mechanical properties of recrystallized Pb have established by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The paper is devoted to the physical model of the vacancy clusters conversion to nanopipes and possible change of physical properties of metals after dynamic centrifugal casting at speeds of the order 3000 rev/min.

VII. ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS OF ENERGY. 20. Water, Its Properties. Water Preparation, Application

Abstract

The article discusses landfills for disposal of municipal solid waste, landfill biogas as an energy resource and its negative properties. We consider the problems of growth of volumes of solid municipal waste in the world and use of landfill gas for energy purposes. Moreover, the article analyzes the ratio of the volume fractions of the major macrocomponents of landfill biogas and the reasons for the high nitrogen content in the composition of the landfill gas. It shows the results of research in the field of cogeneration and trigeneration energy from gas mixtures and formulates the principles of creation of better treatment and landfill gas combustion systems. We develop an effective and lowcost method for increasing the methane component in reducing the nitrogen content in the landfill gas and consider the application of biological products on the basis of methane effluent for processing substrates in the body of the landfill to increase the proportion of methane and environmental safety. The article assesses the expected effect, the positive results of the implementation of the proposed method and proposes set of measures to improve the efficiency of degassing municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill. The demand of this technology for the exploited and newly commissioned MSW landfills inRussiaand abroad is approved.

Abstract

Water-vapor reforming of ethanol was studied for different composition of water-ethanol mixture at2500Cto4500Ctemperature in microchannel reactor on the Ni/ZnO catalyst deposited onto the walls and bottom of the microchannels. Microchannel reactor proved highly efficient for low-temperature water-vapor reforming of ethanol. It allows the microchannel reactor to be considered promising for hydrogen producing and application in portable fuel cells.
